About

Oxide Advanced Technology Ltd.

Oxide Advanced Technology Ltd. represents overseas companies that sell directly to customers from various industrial sectors in Israel.

Oxide Advanced Technology Ltd. was founded in 1981. The company began its path selling semi-finished products (sheets, pipes, etc.) from special metals - a business that continues to this day. One of these special metals, titanium, paved the way for Oxide into two separate markets: the aerospace & defense industry and the chemical industry.

In 1986 Oxide began dealing in process equipment. In 1988 it began selling to the petrochemical industry, and a year later to the Israel Electric Company, which became one of its largest customers.

Since 2015 the company has been developing prototypes for defense and military applications, as well as for medical devices, parallel tracks that build on Oxide’s engineering and materials expertise.

In 1995 Oxide began importing the shape-memory alloy and smart material "Nitinol" on an exclusive basis and became its official distributor in Israel. Extensive know-how in Nitinol, together with the material's popularity, led in 2015 to building a site called "Smart Materials" that, under Art Productive, deals with sales and development of applications from Nitinol, Polynol, and other smart materials. In 1996 Oxide established a subsidiary, "Oren Pumps Ltd.", intended from the outset for buying and selling magnetic-drive pumps and which over time expanded to buying and selling equipment and materials that complement the companies' representation by Oxide. In 2014 "Oren Pumps Ltd." changed its name to "Art Productive Ltd." and began operating in additional fields outside engineering.

Smart Materials

Smart Materials is an informational website specializing in smart materials. The site focuses on the three leading smart materials: Nitinol, Polynol, and liquid crystal.
In 2015, as part of the fifth-grade curriculum, in the book "A New Look" (Mabat Hadash), Oxide — in partnership with Mabat Hadash — added material on Nitinol together with Nitinol experiments for fifth-grade science lessons. After publication, Oxide began receiving many inquiries for information and for purchasing study kits. In addition, in 2014 on Channel 2's "HaMizma" program, a project related to Nitinol appeared; it created broad exposure and led to a search for Hebrew-language sources that barely existed, so Oxide built the "Smart Materials" website, which provides comprehensive information on Nitinol and other smart materials.
